Video Card

Asus Radeon R9 280X 3GB Video Card

OR

Asus Radeon R9 290X 4GB Video Card


I am really torn between these- Or Should I get 2 of the 280x or One 290x?
Which would be better- I am hardcore raider 40man raids.

I really would per which will last the longest. I will be gaming on Wildstar. and MMOs. ~

The cards you posted are pretty expensive for the performance compared to nvidia geforce gtx770, gtx780 and even gtx780ti(in the case of r9 290x), Noticed you didn't mention the r9 290 either. The only ones of those that are a halfway decent price right now sport amd reference style cooling(hot and loud). SLI/crossfire have come a long way but are by no means perfect. I always advocate a fast single gpu card over 2(or more) lesser cards. It does look like the build you posted sports a pretty beefy psu made for SLI or crossfire. How many monitors do you plan to run and at what resolution?

Can you point to any benchmarks, perhaps post your own, about 2 of 280X giving double the performance of a 290X? Usually, two of any card won't give double the rates of one of that card, so I don't think that two 290's would give the performance you describe.
