I was replacing the motherboard on an HP Pavilion P6823W for a friend and found out that the front panel connections didn't match the new board. I couldn't find the layout for the motherboard he got but here is a link: http:// Here are the prints for a board that I will be getting and the old one with: http:// Me and my friend couldn't get the PC to turn on and we are thinking it's because of the front panel connections not powering the power switch. Here are some pictures I took: http://

Note that I did the paper clip test to the PSU and it was fine

Disconnect all the wires from the Front Panel header on the New Gigabyte motherboard. To get it to power up, you ONLY need one (1) cable correctly installed. So, let's start with that one...

I see an F_Panel connector next to the 24 pin cable. It's Not in the bottom row, those are labeled. So in the TOP row it is either the 2 Red pins, OR the 2 Yellow pins. for PWR_ON, check your user manual.....

Also, be sure you have connected the CPU, 4 pin power cable as well as the 24 pin cable....
