[Help] Do I need to attach the MOS sink that came with the MSI Lightning N780?

I just received my MSI N780 Lightning and noticed it came with a MOS sink that appears to be able to screwed onto the back of the card. I assume this is for certain overclocking purposes and not needed for just a basic installation of the card (which I plan to do for awhile until I see what its limits are out of the box).

Sorry for the newb question. Don't wanna ruin this puppy before I get to use it!

It is not needed for the operaction of the card, but it does allow the card to run slightly better as it 'cleans' the power going to the card (slightly gimicky but meh, couldnt hurt)
