I have a decent rig at the moment that I wanted to upgrade with a little more ram. I have currently got some vengence ram installed (linked below) and I want to keep that. The problem is that my cpu heatsink covers one of the free ram slots leaving me unable to get the same product. I would like another 8gb which would be in two 4gb sticks however they need to be low profile as to not block the cooler.
Is there some alternative low profile ram that I can get that will work with the current ram in my pc without instability etc?
is so what would be best for me to get without blowing over £100ish?

also my rig has win7 64bit pro and an I5 4670k if that helps

You can try and might or might not get sticks that will play with your current ones, two many people here advise everybody, "Yeah, just stick more RAM in" and while it was relatively easy a few years back, not so today, if you glance through the forums it's full of threads from people having problems from mixing DRAM, oft time the same exact model of what they already had... I just like folks to know what they may well run into (and do more often then not)

No guarantee ever when mixing DRAM, even two of the same identical sets, best bet would be to get a 2x8GB set for 16GB and sell off the other sticks....you don't mention what heatsink either, if it's a Hyper 212 EVO then there's no problem w/ DRAM as the fans height is adjustable (don't know why people don't realize this)

Sorry i forgot to mention that its the Arctic Cooling Freezer i30 which I don't think is something I can adjust.
So are you saying that there would be no advisable components to install alongside the current?
