I wanted to upgrade the CPU in my laptop from the AMD A6-3420M APU to the AMD A8-4500M series. I installed the CPU, and put it all back together and turned it on. Nothing but a blank screen, with the fan turning on normal and then speeding up to max. Any ideas, or solutions? I've read around that I could go up to the A8 on this laptop but I can't seem to find any solution to what's going on.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

You may have needed to update the BIOS or the heatsink was incompatible and isn't cooling it properly. You shouldn't really update a laptop processor. It's too risky.

It's probably the heatsink since your heatsink is maxing out.
