4x 128GB RAID 0 on ASUS Maximus VI Formula

I was wondering if the ASUS Rampage VI Formula supports 4x RAID 0 with SATA III.
im hoping to hook up 4x Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB (SH103S3/120G) 2.5" SSD's to get a total of 2220MB/S, if not my other alternatives would be to A) Buy a New RAID Controller or B) use 2x 240GB at half the speed for the same price, any advice is appreciated.

According to the specs of your MB, it will support up to 6 drives in RAID 0, 1, 5 or 10 at SATA III (6Gb) speeds. However, the benefits of using RAID 0 with SSD are minimal, unless you know you will use the additional sequential throughput.

I'd recommend the 2x240 which should provide better reliability (less drives), very good transfer rates and leave you with a lot of room for upgrade, otherwise (or if you absolutely need/want the extra speed), you can go with the 4x120.

I have a friend who has tried onboard raid every way from sunday on asus and gigabyte boards, and he informs me unless you spend £100 on a raid controller card, it will sooner or later go pear shaped.
You will be re installing or recovering data every 6 to 12 weeks.

Just to add to chrisso's answer, I personally run 2 120GB Samsung SSDs in RAID 0, but I would not recommend it for the average user, mostly for reliability and because the extra speed on sequential transfers is rarely needed. However, SSD RAID support on motherboards has improved these last few years, TRIM now works on RAID 0 arrays and I never experienced any issue with my setup (well, not any issue related to data loss on my RAID array which I used for about a year).
