I need to get a new monitor as my current 6 year old Dell monitor is making a bas plastic burning smell, so i need to get rid of it before it burns my house down  I am planning on getting the AOC e2252Swdn 22" LED Monitor mainly because it has no big ugly power brick unlike the rest out of the lot. My choices are here: http://www.microcenter.com/search/search_results.aspx?Ntk=all&N=4294966896+4294941524+38&sortby=pricelow&cat=%2475-to-%24100-%3a-1920-x-1080-%3a-LCD-Monitors-%3a-Monitors%2c-TVs-%3a-Electronics-%3a-Micro-Center
Take a look at them.
Which do you guys think is best? Any other monitor recommendations that can be bought in store at this MC location, or Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Fry's Electronics, RadioShack, etc. etc.? Must be $100 or less, 1080p, 1920x1080, DVI and VGA ports; would prefer to (not necessary though) have an HDMI port, 3.5mm audio jack, no power brick. It can be refurbished, i dont care, as long as it works and is in good shape. Again, must be in store for $100 or less tomorrow (12-28-13) and meet the rest of my needs listed above.

Thanks! Happy Holidays!

Your demands for monitor specs, combined with your budget will leave you with a less than quality product of a monitor. This is something i really recommend spending something more on, as if you cheap out, remember you will be looking at it all the time...

from the two you looked at, the aoc is a better price, but it is also at a microcenter, which has much lower prices than you will find anywhere else.

I think it will be quite unlikely for you to find the specs on a monitor for less than $100...i am currently looking at radioshack, bestbuy, and walmart, and not finding anything near what you want for your budget. even the sale monitors that meet your specs are closer to $140

No, theres actually 7 monitors for choices in the link i provided which are my choices right now, and i am asking which of those 7 is the best. The second question is just asking if there is anything better within my needs and budget.

Oh what the heck, i think i know why, at the top, click the drop down menu for the shopping store location and choose the CA- Orange County/Tustin choice. It should reload and show 7.

Why is that particular one the best in your opinion? Also, there is an ABD and ABD 2 the ABD is $100 and ABD 2 is $90, any difference there?

the ABD (99$ one) is better due to it being a more premium model (the cheaper one has cheaper parts in it). It has the best reviews, and the response time is low, contrast ratio is good, viewing angles are better than the other brands, and the color reproduction is slightly better than the rest.

based purely off the specification sheets, and backed up by the reviews, the 99$ ABD (not the 2) is the best monitor in that lineup

What about the ABD compared to the AOC e2252Swdn 22" i mentioned? In your opinion, is the AOC much worse? The only reason i want the AOC more is bc it doesnt have a big power brick lol, but idc if its worse.

The power brick being outside the monitor is actually a good thing in your specific case. It leaves more room in the actual monitor for heat dissipation and will mean your monitor will last longer
(very important when buying extremely cheap or refurbished products)
