Hello guys, this is my first thread so please go easy on me. I have always wanted to record my games and post them to youtube. I have fun editing and capturing my game experience. I have recorded in the past with intel integrated graphics and I have always been able to record above 60 fps. This Christmas I upgrade my PSU and GPU and now my fps stays locked on 53 while recording.

I'm trying to capture the game Minecraft, While not recording I have around 200 fps, as soon as I click the recording button I drop to 53, not more, not less. I am using both programs Fraps and Dxtory and both give me the same output. Here are my current specs, all are stock and not overclocked.

CPU - Intel Core i5 3570K @ 3.40GHz Ivy Bridge 22nm Technology

RAM - 8.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 800MHz (9-9-9-24)

GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760

HDD - 466GB Western Digital WDC WD5000AAKX-001CA0 ATA Device (SATA)

I made this computer to run nice games on high graphics, I would like to be able to record gameplay but at 53 fps It's just not working, as soon as I stop recording my fps goes back up. People say It's my HDD and I know nothing about computers, I would just like to know If that's true. If you guys could help me solve my problem that would be really awesome.
