need suggestions...
this is my current rig...

Intel Core i3 2100 @ 3.10GHz Sandy Bridge
Corsair 6.00 GB DDR3 (1x4GB,1x2GB)
ASUS P8H61-M LX R3 mobo
GeForce GT 520 (ZOTAC International) 1GB --- current gpu
160GB & 500GB SATA Hdds (2xHdds)
1 DVD writer
17" PnP LCD Monitor
& Corsair CX500W PSU.

currently using Win7 64bit OS..

so with only inclusion of GTX 650Ti 2GB DDR5 & rest of the rig as same will corsair CX500W suffice if considering the OC edition or the AMP edition...?????
pls let me know about the normal edition too...

thank you....

Solution

Core i3 2100 = 65W
GTX 650 Ti = 110W
Other components = 40W
Total = 215W
You want about 70% of the rated power at full load.
215 / 0.7 = 308W

This low power requirement means you can get...
Yes, this power supply is enough to power up to a single 780 or 290x without fail. THOUGH, do not leave your current card installed in the computer as it is unnecessary and will result in power consumption being slightly over what your psu would be able to output

This low power requirement means you can get a better quality power supply than the Corsair CX 500 for the same price.

Solution

With the CX 500 you can choose the GTX 650 Ti or GTX 650 Ti boost, or overclocked versions of either of these cards.
In fact, you could choose the GTX 660, 660 Ti, 670 or 760.

You might be able to find a gtx 760 on sale.

Your cx 500 will power a 650 ti however i don't recommend the cx series if you're a hardcore gamer.

I had the cx 600 to power my 780 and I found that it's not the best for a high end graphics cards.

I upgraded to a corsair ax 860i and I noticed a improvement in overall performance, stability and efficiency.

I never tried using the tx series however apparently it's made for hardcore gamers according to Corsair and priced reasonably.

The GTX 650 Ti boost is a very good value card, much better than the GTX 650 Ti.
The AMD Radeon HD 7850 is the equivalent card from AMD.
These cards will allow very high settings.

Query:
I have't bought the GPU yet, I'm leaning towards GTX750Ti, but power required is 600W & I don't want to change my PSU i.e Corsair CX500W. Pls help. Or should I go for GTX 660Ti/650Ti. Will 750Ti work perfectly with 500W PSU?

Comments above were on the quality of the CX 500 power supply.
There are better choices if buying a supply, but if you already own it you shouldn't be concerned.
Your other components have low power usage, you could get a card with power requirements up to 250W.
Any card up to a Nvidia GTX 760 or AMD R9 270X would give you no troubles at all.

I'm not sure where you read a power requirement of 600W for the GTX 750 Ti. This card has very low power usage, rated at only 64W.
Nvidia recommends a power supply over 300W for this GPU.
This is the best performance per watt GPU available at the moment.
The GTX 750 Ti is faster than the GTX 650 Ti that it replaces as well.

Flipkart shows power required for GTX 750Ti as 600W whereas Nvidia shows power requirement as 300W. I will stick with Nvidia.

Thanks for speedy reply.

The criticism of the capacitors is that they may not last as long as quality (usually Japanese) capacitors.
This doesn't mean the supply is going to damage your system.
If you supply does eventually fail, you won't be any worse off than you are now. At that time you can just buy a new supply.

Also, that forum post was to run a HD 7970 with the CX 500. This card is rated at 250W TDP, compare to only 64W for the GTX 750 Ti. Where the HD 7970 would push the supply to its limit, the GTX 750 Ti is comfortably within the limits of the supply.

how to identify whether the 750 ti card is build with GK107(Kepler) arch or GM107(Maxwell) arch when buying, I'm asking bcoz pack cover don't show all the specifications.

All GTX 750 and GTX 750 Ti cards are built with the GM107 GPU.

For stereo speakers, the Creative Gigaworks T20 speakers are OK.
Microlab speakers are also good in this price range, a little bigger but better sound.

Systems with a sub woofer have more bass, but the sound is often not well balanced with poor mid range and clarity.

For games, a set of headphones would be better.
Corsair Vengeance 1500
Logitech G35

Bother these headsets give you virtual surround sound and a microphone.

Headphones are not my kind of thingy. Last time I was using headphones, I was unable to hear the door bell. Damn, that was my last day wearing headphones. So strictly looking forward with 2.1/2.2 Speakers only. Thanks thou. I doubt Microlab Speakers are available in India. Games, movies etc. my ultimate priorities. Hence need really really good speakers.
