My HDD was clunking and clicking and form what I learned through google searches(I had 0 prior knowledge of how HDDs worked besides reader touches disk) this was going to cause permanent damage and I thus request a replacement RMA from newegg. I received my invoice and it said the RMA type was "repair". IS it even possible for newegg to fully repair a broken HDD. Is the disk permanently damaged?

Solution
It is possible for a drive to be fixed, assuming it is a minor error like reader head issues. However, I would request a full exchange for a new HDD. Once an HDD has an issue, RUN! Never rely on refurb or "fixed" HDD's. The data is not as reliable as on a new one.
