In a 2 GPUs Scenario with Win 7 in extended mode (2 screens per GPU),
I understand that there can only be one master GPU, & the other is slave (without crossfire).

If I enabled my integrated IGPU, on my mobo (another 2 screens), I understand that it will share my system ram.

However, does that use up any CPU computing resources or does my primary/master GPU do all the rendering/display work?

More about : gpus igpu primary gpu

the igpu wil do the processing for what ever monitors it is attached to how ever the igpu has its own dedicated spot on the die so it wont take any processing power. to get improved display preformance get fast ram like 1600 or overclocked 2100

If the display is connected to the igpu it will use the integrated graphics.

Why not just get some conversion cables? Your main gpu should be capable of running atleast 3 monitors.

Hi Kaijin41, can I clarify that you mean the igpu on an Intel Haswell processor is separate from the 4 CPU cores on an i-5?

My experience is that in extended mode, the primary gpu seems to be doing the processing for windowed applications on the screens plugged into my secondary GPU, unless I run full screen applications on the screens, then the secondary GPU will do the processing.

I'm got frustrated toying with displayport cables, I want to do without them, that means keeping it to 2 outputs per card.
