I'm on my fourth MSI 280X with this problem among several other problems. I came from a faulty GTX 460 I had since the 400 series release until the 320.xx drivers.

This 280X has caused so much anger. I got all of them from newegg with the same problems in all six of my systems with varying PSU's and CPU's.

Just in case you were wondering, my other problems were the following:

Down-clocking to the point that my computer was almost useless, Very, Very poor performance in any game, Flickering artifacts in Windows and BIOS screens and full system lockups to the point that the hard drive had no activity.

I don't know what to do anymore, Both AMD and Nvidia have given me computer crippling problems. I think I'll just go buy a PS4 now, I'm sick of it.

well maybe you had an awful cpu causing a huge bottleneck..?
though anyway it didnt occur to me anymore,im pretty sure its cause i let it be idle for 12+ hours which caused it to get to such low clock speeds so i restarted and everythings running
