I got my PC for Christmas, so I've only had it for a few days and it's randomly shutting off while playing dayZ, and once while just on the internet.

Specs:

CPU: AMD FX 8320 3.5 GHZ 8 core
GPU: Nvidia GTX 770
Cooling: AMD certified fan 120 MM
4 GB DDR3/1600 MHZ memory
MOBO: Asus N5A97 LE AMD9708
Windows 8.1
Apevia 800 watt power supply
2 TB sata 3

I would be very grateful if someone could answer this for me because considering I've only had it for 3 days its really stressing me out.

Solution
a pre made computer...
well, there are many probabilities about what can cause your problem..
processor heat, loose cable, psu failure..etc etc..

but your computer still covered by warranty, right..?
just rma your machine ..

The odd thing is that it has shutdown like 10 times while playing DayZ, and 0 times while playing a modded out skyrim or bioshock infinite. I find that really weird because I know my rig is completely capable of running dayz

well, yeah..
normally a computer will not shutdown while playing any games except something wrong happens in your system..

mostly shutdown issue because heat or psu failure..

check your cpu temp while gaming..
and also check your bios, at shutdown temperature protection..is it enable or not..?
