Hello!

I've been searching all around google about how i can force my AMD (gigabyte) Radeon 7970 GHz to run certain applications, this time in Minecraft. I currently have a Intel i7 2600k along with 16 GB of ram, from Corsair (corsair vengeance)

And please no "why did you buy a high end gpu for minecraft". I mainly play games like Battlefield, Diablo 3, Crysis and World of Warcraft, and therfor only play minecraft in my offtime, but still I'm stuck at 45-60 fps...

Solution

Right click on desktop and check if there any option which says something like "Switchable Graphics".

Ofcourse have i it connected to the GPU ports. How else should i be able to run 3 screens? (It does not decrease perfomance, i have tried to disconnect 2 of them).

Try this. It worked for me

1,Open up AMD Graphic Properties by right clicking anywhere on the desktop and choosing "Graphic Properties" option

2. When at the Graphic Properties dialog box go to: Gaming>Image Quality.

3.Here you will see three options: Anti-Aliasing, Anti-Aliasing Mode and Anisotropic Filtering

4.In the Anti-Aliasing tick the option "Use application settings".

5.In Anti-Aliasing Mode set the marke to the "Performance".

6.In Ansiotropic Filtering tick the option "Use application settings".

Hope this helps. :)

I have tried it, it did'nt give alot of perfomance, but still does not answer my question. I want Java to use my GPU as a processor. :)

As of right now, no. I have a Gigabyte Radeon 7970 GHz which should be more than enough to run Minecraft :)
And no, this is not solved yet...

I mean are you also using Integrated Graphics along with your AMD GPU ?

As of current, minecraft runs on my cpu for everything, but i want minecraft to run only on my GPU, so it does all the calculating etc.
Yes, there is a integrated graphics card on my cpu (i7 2600k) which is activated, but all my screens is connected to the AMD gpu

Trust me, I have checked and that is a solution only accessible to Nvidia graphicscards.

Then maybe it's a case of automatic switching.

It's like when you play a very graphic intensive game like BF4 or COD Ghosts your AMD GPU automatically sets as a default one so it won't be problem. Computer will adjust it's Graphic Requirements automatically unless there is an option of "Switchable Graphics".

This is normal so you don't have to worry. Are you experiencing any lag or FPS drop will playing very graphic intensive game ?

This is exactly why i posted this question. So far i found out a couple api's that can make java run on the GPU, but nor is there a mod for minecraft, program to do it. So far my only clue is that i need to wait for Mojang to implent it.
