i5 or better graphics card for gaming?

I have an AMD radeon HD 7700 series GPU and an i3 3320 cpu at 3.30GHz, and I want to make my computer better for gaming. so what should I get a new better graphics card or a quad core i5? keep in mind I don't want to be spending any more on the GPU than I would on the i5 :)

I would do graphics card first, but I would choose an Nvidia card. Bitcoin miners have driven up the price of the AMD cards to insane levels. If you can afford to spend about 250, you can get a gtx 760, which will be HUGE upgrade from the 7700 that youre using now.
You might also consider going with crossfire. I wouldnt normally recommend this route, but I have a couple of 7770's in one of my machines, and it does pretty well, especially considering I got both the cards for about 100 usd each.
