I got my PC for Christmas, so I've only had it for a few days and it's randomly shutting off while playing dayZ, and even while just on the internet. When it shuts off on the internet the core temperature reading was 35 degrees Celsius. So i'm thinking it has to do with the power supply. but i'm not sure. Someone please help me out.

Specs:

CPU: AMD FX 8320 3.5 GHZ 8 core
GPU: Nvidia GTX 770
Cooling: AMD certified fan 120 MM
4 GB DDR3/1600 MHZ memory
MOBO: Asus N5A97 LE AMD9708
Windows 8.1
Apevia 800 watt power supply
2 TB sata 3

Solution
If you get a prebuilt PC with a bad power supply, you're going to have a bad time.

I can't be absolutely certain that the power supply is the culprit, but it's definitely the most likely cause.

What other info would be helpful? And I can turn it on i'm actually using it now it just shuts off every time I exit DayZ, and sometimes when I play it and sometime when i'm on the internet. It has never shut down when I'm playing skyrim or bioshock infinite though. Should I get a PSU with less wattage?

I would recommend an XFX]http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1650snlb9]XFX Core Edition 650W[/url]. More than plenty power for your system. In fact, it can deliver 53A on the 12V rail, corresponding to 636W. Your current Apevia unit is rated for 624W (52A) on the 12V rails. So it's really rated as a 650W unit, and since it's a crappy brand that probably still can't be trusted.

Now, there's no guarantee that changing the power supply will fix the problem. But even if you weren't experiencing any issues, I'd actually still recommend replacing that unit, because it's just too much of a risk.

Hey, don't fix it RMA it !!! Should still be under warranty to contact CyberPower technical support. Follow their suggestions. If they can't resolve the issue, they set you up with an RMA & ship it back to them.

No reason for you to fix their warranty issues for 'em..............
