My games go too fast!

Hello, I've got a problem: The games I try go too fast. Let me explain

I've got an FX-6300 in a 980DE3/U3S3 mobo. I have 4 GB of 1600 Kingston HyperX BLU RAM, a 500GB SATA2 hard-drive and a Gigabyte R9 270 OC graphics card. All of this is running under Windows 7 64 bit.

Now, when I try to play Team Fortress 2, for example, it goes at twice the speed it should, and even with maxed-out graphics and V-sync turned on, still goes too fast.

Same thing for Saint's Row the Third.

And Brütal Legend just throws me in an infinite loading screen.

I had to install MSI Afterburner because my card overheated to let the fans spin properly.

I asked here before but none of the solutions helped me.

Thank you very much.

I think it's a software problem. Never heard of it before. My card is stronger than yours and it never happened to me. When games are really simple in terms of graphics the fps just skyrocket. Have you tried another driver version?

Well, I seem to somehow have found a solution: Every single time I install or uninstall the AMD suite, things seem to go perfectly well until I reboot, when everything becomes too fast and stuttered. So I reckon that the trouble must be somewhere in the driver.

I tried:

- Installing the driver + Catalyst: Things well until reboot.
- Installing the beta driver + Catalyst: Things well until reboot.
- Uninstalling everything and installing again: Things well until reboot.
- Uninstalling Catalyst and leaving the driver: Things well until reboot.

I'm desperate now. I don't want to be constantly installing and uninstalling the driver or the Catalyst suite to be able to play games.

I have the same problem, but your solution above don't work for me, all games I try to run goes in about 1.5x speed. googled around a bit, maybe something in windows 7 updates triggered this?
