Hi all
I want to find a compatible SO-DIMM/DDR3/1333 module for my aging notebook Acer Timeline (chipset GS45 Express). The notebook has 2Gb module installed: Samsung M471B5673EH1-CF8 DDR-3 1066 / 533Mhz (2Gb)

I want to buy an additional 1333mhz DDR3 (4gb) module that should be compatible with my configuration. I've read that the number of physical memory chips (in existing module) is a critical parameter for finding a compatible additional RAM module. Both numbers (in the old and in the new module) should be equal.

From the M471B5673EH1-CF8's datasheet:
Data bits: - x64 204pin Unbuffered SODIMM[
Depth - 256M
# of Banks in comp. & Inter: - 8Banks SSTL-1.5V
Bit Organization - x 8
Components revision - E 6th Gen
Org.: 256Mx 64
Density: 2GB
Speed: CF8/H9
Raw card: F(2Rx8)
Composition: 128M x 8 * 16 pcs
Internal banks: 8
Rank: 2

How to determine a number of physical memory chips installed on this memory module?
What's other parameters i need to draw attention?

P.S. I don't want to remove the RAM module physically yet.

Thank you!

The physical number of chips is from a long time ago. In fact the internal organization, 256Mx 64 in this case might still be relevant for some older laptops. Recommendation: just enter your exact model + 'ram' in Google. Websites like Crucial Memory Advisor will pop up and help you select compatible ram (http://www.crucial.com/acer/)
