I understand it is old, but it still retails for $175. I'd bet you can get $125 for it as long as it still works well.

Then you could get something like this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127741&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-Video%20Card%20-%20Nvidia-_-MSI-_-14127741&cm_sp=&AID=10440897&PID=3938566&SID=
this would be a major upgrade. And it's only $320 right now. It also comes with 3 games, which makes it an even better deal.

You could get a 760 if you want, it's still an upgrade, just not a big one. The power difference between the 760 and 770 is quite large. The 770 is GREAT for 1080p gaming.

Save your $$. Triple it. You'll only be aggravated by upgrading to anything at $200. The gain would only be marginal..a possible 1000 point increase or a few more fps. Plan to spend on the GTX 780 superclocked or a 290x and get enough power to run it.
Plan on spending $500++ to get what you Really need.
You already have a 660.
That's not bad at all.

The difference between a 660 and a 760 is not that big, 10-15% or so. So maybe 5-10fps more depending on that game. As for what Magneezo said, that's totally unnecessary unless that is what you want to do. You don't NEED to spend $500+ on a GPU. If you are playing on one monitor and are playing at 1080p, something like a 770 will do great for you for the price. You will be able to max out every game and still get around 60~fps on almost all of them. Obviously a 780 would be better if you're trying to achieve a bit higher than 60fps at 1080p, and a 290x would be great for running multiple monitors or playing at 1440p, but if you're not doing those things, they are kind of overkill.

Per the Graphics card Hierarchy chart (http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107-7.html) a 760 would only move you up one tier. A 770 would move you up two. It is recommended that you move up at least 3 tiers if you want to see a difference, which means you'd need to get at least a 780 (as the current cheapest, what with bitcoins inflating the r9 290 prices). Basically, you should be able to run everything fine on the card you have, about as well as any other card in your price range would get you. I'd suggest you save your $200 for when the next wave of cards comes out and prices drop.

Which isn't to say there aren't some great cards available to you, it's just... kinda expensive for a minor upgrade.

That's Great News
because in all honesty I have about what I could afford
and as you can see there's no 'High End' in much of it.

You couldn't be more wrong. I'll agree that moving from a 660 to a 760 will be only a marginal gain (10fps) but moving from a 660 to a 770 is very big. You're out of your mind if you don't think so. The 770 rips though 1080p gaming.

I stand corrected. Looking at benchmarks, the 770 does indeed pull almost a 25% increase over the 760, which would indeed be quite noticeable.

And this is why you check the hard numbers sometimes.
