i'm going to upgrade my GPU in less than a year... since mine is meats the requirements for the games i play, and to space out the expense of upgrading.
i could upgrade my PSU then..

i went though this PSU Calculator website, and it said i only need 385w at Maximum... and i made sure to included all the fans i have and everything. (saying that my 460w should be good)

what about the PSU power cord, and it's PINs? has that changed yet, is it still 24 pin connector?

As long as you've got data backups, you shouldn't need to.

not sure what you mean?
i have two hard drives.. one smaller 80GB for Windows 7..
and, one larger one for "Media" 750GB

this helps ensure, i never lose anything if my OS gets messed up.
(space is a little tight right now on my windows drive.. but i manage.)

i'm getting a new DVD drive also, cause for some reason mine is shotty.
(it does that thing, where it tries to open but it can't dislodge, and i have to do the paper-clip thing)
