Is the normal GTx 780 compatible with a 780Ti in SLI?

I think that they are okay because it's the same chipset (GK110): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_700_Series
they are not a chipset. they have the same GPU core. and nvidia has never allowed SLI with different models. so no. you can't. AMD is the only one who allows you to combine different models based on the same GPU core but its not a good idea to actually do it.
