Steam download issues

Hi, i have always been able to install steam games to my hdd or ssd of choice, just thi morning i installed 3 games all to the drive i wanted. but now when i click download it just says how long it will take and if i want a desktop icon,m it skips the step where it asks me for what drive to save it to. ive already tried exiting steam and restarting my pc.

actually i believe i have figuered it out, some people have said that games that use the source engine (im downloading half-life2) automatiaccly install the source engine games to a default location
