CPU Temperature Question

Why does HWMonitor say that my CPU temp is over 100 Celsius most of the time? Here's a screenshot.

Am I doing something wrong or is there anything I can do to fix it?

  1. I see you have an AMD APU. Good luck getting an accurate temp of the cores. I have had 3 APUs, and several FX processors. I have yet to find a program that can read the core temps. Not even AMD's own Overdrive reads them. Usually the tmp0 is close to accurate, though. See if your MB disk comes with a utility pgm that can read the temp.

I seriously doubt those temps you show are correct.

That is the socket temperature and not the core.
It is very high though. If your using the stock heatsink and fan that came with the CPU i suggest you change it. They are terrible.
You can try touching the heatsink near the CPU to see how hot it feels. It could be a faulty sensor.
