ok so I just upgraded my Intel core i3 3220 to a Intel core i5 3570k and I also got a corsair h100i and my idle temps are around 38 Celsius and that just seems a little high to me thank you guys in advance for your help. Ps I haven't done any overcooking.

I don't think that your CPU will reach more than 60c even with intensive games which is quite good. However, I do agree that 38c on idle seems a bit higher (around 4-5c) than it should be, but it's nothing alarming. As long as you don't get high temps (more than 70c) under full load (or more than 80% CPU usage) you have nothing to worry about.
