Hi guys.

So I got myself a RAM upgrade for my PC. The name and part number is as follows:

Crucial Ballistx (part no. BLS2C4G3D18ADS3CEU 8GB) (4GBx 2) 240 Pin DIMM DDR3 PC3-14900 Memory

I had ran the crucial memory tool and this was one of my options for my mother board yet when I've put the RAM into the motherboard I get a red light on the dram led light.

I have made sure they are seated correctly multiple times, they are both in the blue slots and I have tried pressing the MemOki! button with no luck. I do not even get the BIOS on screen, nothing. Yet when I put my old ram back in it will boot fine.

Am I missing something here? Faulty module? I have tried with just one stick and still no luck (still have the red light which stays on constantly, if I press the Oki button it turns off for a few seconds then reboots and still has a solid red light)

Is there some sort of speed or voltage mismatch which I need to apply or maybe a bios update? My systems specs are:

CPU: Intel Core i5 760 @ 2.80GHz
Motherboard: ASUS P7P55 LX

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Your processor doesn't support RAM speeds above 1333 MHz. Jut mentioning that, but that shouldn't be the problem as it will automatically downclock from 1866 to 1333 Mhz.
Maybe you could try a BIOS update, I'm not sure about voltage.
Did you try to put your RAM in black slots?

Yeah I've tried the black slots with no luck as well. Ah okay that sucks, I really wanna get it working!! Thanks for the response.

Anyone else got any ideas? I'll try and see if I've got a bios update to download

bump, still no luck. I even went into the bios and enabled some XMP which was meant to help but that didn't work. Might just have to return them at this rate :( Anyone got any suggestions?
