Computer Monitor Dimming

When I play games or watch movies my computer monitor goes dim for a while and slowly brighten up. This is very annoying when I play games because it goes too dim to play. I heard it was a power saving problem but I cannot seem to change or fix it.

Windows 8.1 pro
LG LED 22EN33
Corsair tx 750
GTX 660 OC

turn of the power saving on the monitor and put it on full brightness.(if you have not tried it)
if it still does it use a other monitor if available.
if you have intergrated graphics use them.
