Hi, I'm getting ready for a new videocard that's arriving tomorrow and wanted to learn exactly how to install it by myself for once. I'm having trouble getting the backplate or whatever off, the little metal slot with holes that you need to remove to have the ports available for you to hook your monitor up to your card. I saw a little screw which I already unscrewed, but it doesn't seem to have made a difference. What am I doing wrong?

Sometimes several slot covers are fitted together as a continuous strip at the factory as a time-saver.
They are joined together but the joint can easily be snapped by flexing the one you need to remove.
You may find it easier to remove the whole strip to separate them, but I managed it without doing that.
