Howdy,
I removed a HD from my old laptop which had a broken screen and was planning on plugging it into my new laptop and extracting some files off it. But everytime I plug it into my laptop it asks it needs to be formatted. I went into bios and tried to run the external HD on startup but as soon as it tried to load the OS on the external HD it crashed with the lovingly warm blue screen to appear.
I don't want to format it since it has my data on it =[ If I remember correctly it was running Windows XP and now I'm using Windows 7, would that make much difference as to whether I'm capable of accessing it as a data storage format in it's current state?
Your help would be much appreciated, thanks! =]
