Ever since I bought my computer it has frozen when playing games. The first game I tried to play was lord of the rings online. It froze maybe about a half-hour of play. No keyboard functions (alt-f4 and Ctrl-alt-delete) work. I have to hold the power button down and manually restart. Then I downloaded and began playing league of legends when it freezes. My computer freezes so inconsistently, sometimes 2 minutes after playing or up to two hours after playing. It then might take another hour to freeze or as little as another minute to freeze again. These are my components:

Case: Raidmax helios
CPU: Intel core i5 3570k
Motherboard: asrock z75 pro 3
Memory: corsair vengeance 8 gb ddr3 1600 MHz
Hard-drive: varies*
Power-supply: corsair cx 650 watt part modular power supply

*i originally had a 500 gb hard drive that my dad scrounged up from his office and we ended up reformatting it. The freezing still continued. We then replaced it with an identical one and transferred all data to the new one. Freezing still occurred. Now I have my dads 3 tb hard drive from his computer at work and the data was transferred again. Freezing still persists. My dad thought it might be my ram and I swapped mine with my brother's identical ram. The freezing happened yet again.

Now we think I might have a cracked motherboard and we're trying to get a new one on warranty. Anyone have any other thoughts i would love to know.

Thanks for taking your time to read this.

I am using the built in Intel hd 4000 graphics on the CPU

What kind of non-internet games are you talking about?

any.......... your old man should know that at one time you didn't even need an internet connection to play a game. you actually OWNED what you paid for.

okay, so your on board Intel 4000 is horse manure and you need to buy a discreet graphics card. problem should then be solved.

I know what an offline game is, I don't own any. Also do you know how I mark as Unsolved again, I accidentally marked as solved.

My brother has the exact same components and his doesn't freeze so that's likely not the answer

remove heatsink and fan. clean up old thermal paste and reapply new. PROPERLY reseat the heatsink. play............what happens?.......... you may also want to check for dust build up on your heatsinks on the cpu/anywhere on the MB and on the intake and exhaust fans. I don't care what your brother's machine is doing.
