What OS do you have on your laptop? Is your laptop HDD formated on FAT32? if yes, then files larger then 2GB cannot be copied/moved on FAT32 HDD......make sure your laptop HDD/partition is formated in NTFS and not in FAT32. If u have free space on your laptop HDD u can partition your HDD with a new one and format it in NTFS (use disk management)

Well, it's a Win7, and I'm not entirely sure on how the whole NTFS, HDD or FAT32 thing works so I'm not sure of the formatting... but if this helps:

Whenever I click on a folder that I want to access, a notification comes up saying like, "access not enabled for this specific user (or somewhat like that term)." and I've tried everything to change it, even tried the option of going into the properties of the drive and enable the usage of the E drive to all the defaulted listed groups and such. This seems to have done the trick, because now it's working, but I'm still cautious as to how long it'll respond.. so I'll keep this marked as 'unsolved' for the time being in case something else goes wrong , in case the new problem is linked to this one. (But I'd like to thank you for reading my post and considering the thought of helping me.)
