My rig :

Intel Core i3 540 @ 3.07 Ghz ( Rather old )
8 Gig Ram 1333
Win 7 64-bit
Radeon R9 270X 2Gig
PSU Huntkey 600W
MSI H55-GD65 LGA 1156

So as far as I know the GPU should be able to handle BF4 pretty well, but this is the stats i'm getting in game.

Low Settings :
27 ~ 29 FPS
GPU: 30% usage, 46 Celsius
CPU: 79% usage, 52 Celsius
RAM: 4.53 Gig/8 Gig

Ultra Settings :
19 ~ 22 FPS
GPU: 48% usage, 48 Celsius
CPU: 82% usage, 54 Celsius
RAM: 4.88 Gig/8 Gig

The tests was done in Multiplayer. Think it was a 48 Player map. I was in the same spot when I did the tests. I was looking over a crowded battle area from a nearby hill hiding in the bushes.

I did download the latest AMD drivers.

Thanks

looking at usages, it appears your cpu is holding you back.

Thanks for the quick reply. But wouldn't my CPU usage be at 100% then?

Your CPU is definitely holding you back. You have really good specs for your computer except for your CPU. That's what is bottlenecking you causing you to have bad performance in games. You need at least an i5 or six core AMD processor in order to not bottleneck that graphics card. I hope this helps :)

Thanks! I see. Adding to what you said, should I invest in Hashwell or is that unnecessary?

It depends on your budget and what you plan to do with upgrading in the future. I would suggest getting an i5 and you can either go with haswell or ivybridge. I recommend haswell because its newer and you're going to have to get a new mobo so might aswell go with the newest technology you can. What are you willing to spend and are you going to overclock?

That motherboard will support quite a few processors: http://www.msi.com/product/mb/H55-GD65.html#/?div=CPUSu...
The good news is that the i5 class is a substantial upgrade and still more than capable of running even demanding games well.
The bad news is the LGA1156 socket is old, finding an upgrade will require you to look on Craiglist and Ebay.
