Hi everyone,

I am switching from nivida to amd (280x), but i've heared nothing but bad things about amd drivers. Are they really that bad?

Solution
Im a tad bit of a Nvidia Fanboy, But Ive had issues with both sides. Its not Always the driver at fault. Sometimes its your Own System Configuration.
Or something else on your system that is out of date.

Ive had Nvidia Drivers give me hell.
And the same goes for AMD on a friends system.

Best just buy the card....
Thats in your Budget
That Performs how YOU want in the games YOU play...
and has the features YOU care about

Nvidia - 3D - Geforce Experience - Shadowplay - Shield
AMD - Eyefinity - Mantle - Raptor (GFE)

Etc...

And if you have a problem, Just report in here =D
I wouldnt say they are that bad, but there is nothing good enough about them to make it heard more.
So they arent all bad, but the issues are present. However it is not enough to sway away from buying AMD by many means.
Had a 7750 for 2 years no issue, running Nvidia now due to price increases on AMD side.

For single GPU's I've had absolutely no trouble with them, save that they always want to underscan my HDMI by default. This is an easy fix, however, if you know what the problem is.

I've heard horror stories about multi-card solutions from AMD, but there are really few situations where you would want to go with two cards. Doesn't stop people, of course, but...

damn. Something i didnt want to hear xD. The thing is i've already ordered 280x toxic edition, but lately i've been lookin' up msi 770 lightning. From the benchmarks ive seen and ive seen alot 280x just seems more bang for the buck and just overall better gpu. But there isnt enough on 770 lightning considering that its the highest factory overcloacked card. And then again 280x is 3G 770 is 2G and ppl are sayin' that bf4 is already using more then 2G for 1080p. I'm confused as hell, i just want the best graphic card out of those two=/

no problems with amd drivers. when it comes to nvidia and amd drivers.... when games get released about 1 in 4 will have an issue in the first week or two but they get resolved fairly quickly. beta drivers are usually out in 1 to 3 weeks time. more than one monitor and crossfire do have issues though.

I've yet to have any multi-monitor problems with any of my AMD cards, including the 3-monitor Eyefinity setup I'm using right now, which was quite easy to set up, even with Bezel adjustment. Don't know where the multi-monitor thing is coming from...

Thank you simmons:D the thing is toxic is 375 bucks and 770 lightning is 360, same shit. I was always leaning more on toxic side but the things ive heard about amd drivers got me all nervous and since i have pretty good experience with nivida drivers got me thinking,oh and ofc the 3G vs 2G.
But after all i'm gonna go for 280x Toxic. Thank you all for anwsers!

I am running 2 AMD 270x's in crossfire configuration just fine. No driver issues.
I changed from Nvidia years ago when they had driver problems when Vista was launched.
Both companies will have the occasional driver hiccup but they get resolved.

Now if you'll excuse me i have to go and play Battlefield 4 in ultra:D
