Windows will not start after GPU installation

I just got a Gigabyte GTX 650ti BOOST. I installed it, and plugged in the DVI cable. Everything worked fine and the resolution was horrible but this was expected since I still hadn't update the drivers. So I go to the NVIDIA website to download the latest drivers. After I install them, the installer tells me the computer needs to be restarted to finish with the driver installation so I clicked "Restart Now." The problem is that the "Starting Windows" screens comes up but as soon as it goes away, the monitor goes into standby with a message that says "DVI input not connected" (or something similar) but the computer stays ON as if everything was running normally, forcing me to hard-reset the computer. I turned it on again and went into the BIOS to check if the PCI slot was enabled (I couldn't find anything) and then I went into the Boot Priorities section and clicked on Boot Override -> SSD(device with the OS) and the computer booted normally and it detected the GPU with the updated drivers.

My question is:

Is there any way I can fix this so that I don't have to go into the BIOS every single time I want to use the computer?

Also, is it safe to use Boot Override every time I turn it on?

This is my build
