I'm new to vlan's and would appreciate some help understanding them and getting started. Google throws a wealth of useless info at you.
Basically I want to set up a private vlan to improve security. It is my understanding that by doing so, I can achieve the following:
-stipulate which clients have access to the wan port/internet
-stipulate which clients can communicate with each other
-stipulate which clients are isolated from other clients on the network.
I have a host of routers at my disposal- some running ddwrt and some not, some using broadcom chips and others using atheros.
Do correct me if I'm mistaken and any help getting started with configuration would be appreciated.
P.S. What is a good private vlan supported ddwrt flashable router to get these days?
