This started happening recently . When I run games like battlefield 4 and other similarly high requirement games my CPU temperature reaches 59C at the maximum. Then i switch off the monitor and came after like 5 minutes temperature is at 63C . I opened the task manager and there was no program running, as soon as I started playing games or watched a movie temperature comes back to normal. i cant understand the problem, please help.

Solution
what software to monitor temps? i wouldnt trust most software readouts

could be a bios update/cmos reset that changed/reset the fan profile, temps dropping under load could be from higher temps raising up the fan speed to fight the temprature

if your cpu at full load works aok then i wouldnt worry (use Prime95 to test)
task manager to check cpu load is less then 5% (aka something isnt loading up the cpu)

if its a laptop dont worry about idle but check load temps (first gen i7's will get to 100ºc)

check you havent messed with the power settings/power profile (set to balanced, reset the profile/load defaults dont use high performance)

if this is all correct check your hsf is installed correctly (if its an Intel stock HSF with push pins reseat it - look for a guide on youtube, there easy and reliable), thermal paste is present and ok, check dust buildup

also check fans are all in the correct directions (rear out, pannel fans in, psu fans out, cpu hsf fans in/towards block, front fans in etc)

I have checked everything you said thermal paste is fine and its a PC and CPU is a AMD phenom X4 960T processor and AMD processor shouldn't reach more than 70C , the temp is high only in idle and when I play games the temp decreases.
