More about slow kinda
  1. I bet only you and the guy in the computer shop are the only ones that know the hardware in your case............ be specific.
  2. Intel I5-4670k CPU
    gtx 760 gpu
    windows 7 64 bit
    8gb ram
    1 TB HDD

  3. tired/get back to this tomorrow.
  4. Start-up on your PC is probably HDD limited. Can you go to device manager and see what make/model disk drive is in your PC? A wonderful 'green' drive can really make boot take forever.

There are a million tutorials on getting a faster boot time, e.g. Use SYSTEM CONFIGURATION to turn off start programs and services that you don't want.
  5. Im not really all that bothered with the booting time of my pc im more annoyed by the fact that programs tend to take so long to load

also its a ATA WDC WD10EADS-22M SCSI disc device if that says anything :P
  6. Is your HD a 7200 or 5400 RPM? That can make a huge difference.
  7. that's what I'm thinking........ but also check to see that raid is disabled........and maybe the sata slot is running an unfriendly Intel chip.... might want to swap.... ide mode vs ahci............

wait a minute, a 15000rpm scsi drive? got a controller for it?
  8. Pick up an SSD. Problem solved.
  9. wait a minute, a 15000rpm scsi drive? got a controller for it?

I really have no idea I dont know that much about HDDs

Hi, the WDC WD10EADS-22M is a GREEN drive designed to save power at the expense of slower performance. Nice write up here:,2078-5.html The drives it's being compare to are all slow drives. This is a nicer slow drive. 5400 rpm.

Download HDTUNE (google it) and run the benchmark.

Fix is (1) buy a faster spinning drive. e.g. WD Black or (2) Buy an SSD at say 240GB and manage space across your current drive and the SSD.
