Either playing back video in WMP or VLC, watching videos on Youtube, or editing in Premiere - my video image is stuttering and jerking horizontally.

It's hard to describe the issue exactly, but the jerkiness and stutters are in the same position on the screen each time it happens. Mostly only noticeable on fast moving video,

I've been away for a few months, I don't remember this happening before I went away. Nothing has changed in the system, I've updated graphics drivers, no change.
Not sure if this is related, but I also lost window border transparency on Windows programs/folders recently.

Windows 7
GeForce GT240
i7-2600K
16GB RAM
Dual-screen set-up (if that affects anything)

Not sure what other info to include, Any help appreciated!

i'm currently learning that a good portion of video playback is CPU intensive and from what I can tell, VLC sticks to just one core no matter what (at least that's what it did on my FX6350 until I returned it). fire up your task manager to view memory and core loads, and see if anything is saturating. I found that my processor was only running at around 17% total load, which is small - until you do the math and realize that it means one core is basically saturated (6 cores total, 1 at 100% use = 17% of total capacity).

no idea on the other stuff like window borders, though. roll back drivers and see what happens?

No worries, GiantBucket.

I figured out it was due to LogMeIn's mirror display drivers. I disabled these in Device Manager, logmein still works but the stuttering and Aero effects are both sorted now!

Now I need to address a graphics card upgrade.
