Is there a useful/reliable way to test a used SSD for it's life expectancy?

There is a "remaining life" attribute in ssd's smart data. There's also how many hours it's been on so you can somewhat calculate the life expectancy. Crucial doesn't have their own software but there are plenty of third party software that can read smart data. Try crystaldiskinfo. http://crystalmark.info/download/index-e.html
