Recently switched from DSL to xfinity. I hated the new wireless portion of my new SMC modem/router so had it put onto bridge mode. I purchased a Linksys EA6200 to use as my router. This works great in most of my house. Since I have my old actiontec Q1000 DSL modem/router I was trying to set this up as a wireless AP. I have disabled DHCP, given it a static IP address, set the SSID to the same as my Linksys and put it into transparent bridge mode. Ran a cable from LAN port on Linksys to LAN port on Q1000. I see two wireless systems witht the same SSID but can only get internet when connecting to the Linksys.

If set up correctly should I only see the SSID once? What setting am I missing to get the Q1000 to work as the AP? Thanks for your help.

Try leaving it in router mode. Setting it to bridge mode may change the way it works. It SHOULD not matter since the lan ports and the wireless are all one network but bridge mode means is also put the DSL port in the same network.

Since there is nothing connected to the DSL port no traffic will ever pass so running in router mode makes no difference. You have done the key things which is to disable the DHCP and changed the IP address.
