So, I know nothing about networking and I need some help. I'll try to explain my situation as best as possible.

The modem and router are plugged in downstairs. On the 2 ended side of the splitter is the router and a wire that plugs into the cable box. At the other end of the splitter is a really long wire that goes through to the 2nd floor and connects to a cable box upstairs in the living room. There's also a cable box in my room that is "siphoning" cable off of a cable box in a room directly across from mine via a wire through the wall.

I need to move the modem and router into my room so that I can connect my new PC via wired connection. I have no idea where to plug in the modem. I was thinking I need to plug the modem into my cable box, but there is no room to plug it into. One plugin connects the cable box to my TV, another one connects my cable box to another cable box in a different room that GIVES me cable, and the two others are occupied by a really short wire that literally connects the cable box back into itself.

I know this is very confusing, but it's the best I could describe it. I can provide pictures if needed.

Would my best bet be to call a Comcast tech to visit my house and move it for me? Because I can't make heads or tails on how I can move this thing. I'd much rather just pay a fee and have them do all the work (then again, we owe Comcast like $300)

coax cable is very easy to handle, especially indoors. It is very easy to terminate as well, you can do this yourself with a proper pair of clippers and a knife. What you do need is wall boxes to terminate these in. I really don't understand this since you can just line cat 5 utp cable from your current location to your new. Way easier, use a proper switch, and you would need no work at all
