Is there a cable or wire of some sort to connect a graphics card to a motherboard? (Like an extension cord)

Basically, Im doing a very compact mini itx build for fun and i need to save space. Ive found something called "PCI-E Extension Cable Flex Ribbon 1x To 16x Riser Card Adapter" online but im honestly not sure if this is what im looking for.

I was thinking of using a gtx 670 mini version with this and i also want to know if it will affect performance a lot.

to connect a GPU to a motherboard, there is no wire required, a GPU connects to a motherboards PCI-e slot without a wire
