Need help in BIOS update?

CPU:AMD FX-8320
Motherboard:ASUS M5A97 R2.0
OS:Windows 8.1 64-bit

I hardly know anything about the BIOS so I am asking you this:
Will I need to update my BIOS and if so how to do that?
Am I going to update it to the latest version(2103) or the version when the processor was first compatible(1006)?

Please help, I do not want to make a mistake when updating so please provide a detailed explanation ! ! !

Your in luck...just updated my BIOS for the same MoBo and an 8350...
1. Download the file here...
http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A97_R20/#support

2. It will be in a zipped folder open it then place the ".CAP" file onto a fresh USB stick.

3. Go into BIOS and select the last tab called "tool".

4. Click BIOS flash utility and you should see the "2103.CAP" fill...click on it and it will ask to update.

While updating DO NOT shut your computer down. MAKE SURE you are in an environment where the power will not go out. You will ruin your MoBo if it doesn't complete.
