Hiya
I bought a Hp laptop for my daughter for xmas on windows xp.
I turned on connected to internet all was working fine.
After about an hour a blue screen came up with windows had to shut down to protect its self with alot of other writing etc.
I cant remember it all.
Since then a black screen comes up saying Non system disk or disk erroreplace and strike any key when ready.
Please help as my little girl is heartbroken that she cant use her xmas present :(

Hi, I would go into bios and Change your computer's boot sequence. If it had been running windows fine prior to this event then I would say there is a issue with you hard drive or a problem with the memory. Restart the PC and hit the f10 key while it's restarting, that should bring get you into setup. There is a hard drive self-test you can run from there. If it passes that test then it's more than likely a software or memory issue.
personally I would dump XP and upgrade the OS to Windows 7 or 8. Microsoft does not support XP any longer so it's quite susceptible to viruses and malware and I would not rule either of those as being the problem.
