Hi guys ! Yesterday I pressed the shutdown button and Windows 8 was shutting down, but soon I realized it wouldn't shut down completely because it got freeze, the LEDs were on, the FANS were ON as well, the screen of the LED monitor was black, and the PC wouldn't shut down; I unplugged the external hard drive and pressed for a couple of seconds on the power button and the PC shutdown.
But now I turned it on, everything seemed to work fine, the bios was loaded, but then Windows 8 wasn't, it's just a black screen, and there is nothing I can do.

What do you think is the issue here ?
Thanks to everyone who's willing to help.

You can try to boot in "safe mode". Use F8 when it boots if it is manufacturer assembled computer, or insert your installation media. Select boot priority DVD. Enter troubleshooting. You can reverse to last well known configuration, refresh Windows (last resort), or enter Safe mode. If it is not on a list- look it up on the Internet- there guides with pictures. May need C-Prompt command.

Actually it's really complicated since the issue is within the hard drive, the sudden shutdown caused the hard drive to fail, of course I did the classis chkdsk \f and I found some errors but unfortunately it wasn't enough to render the hard drive bootable, I guess I'm going to have to reformulate and repost my issue in another section of this community, the Hard drives section.
I'm sick and tired of all these hard drive issues, this is the second one in a month, of course both caused by an improper shutdown, I wonder if the new SSDs are more versatile.

While hard drive can get damaged by improper shut down, it is not everyday thing. I would not rush to do anything to the hard drive. What happens after your motherboard's logo? Any text? If it is hard drive, it will not post. You would have red led lights on motherboard, and you will see white text saying something about hard drive failure.

It is hard drive, 100% sure, the improper shutdown created some errors on the hard drive, and these errors don't allow the cpu to boot the os from the hard drive.
I tried with the classic chkdsk \f but unfortunately didn't work, I suppose the MBR has to be rebuilt, I'll run a quick test with the TestDisk and see what I can do.
