So basically I bought a new motherboard to support my new graphics card, all is going great, it boots up, but when it boots up it automatically goes into the Uefi settings and asks me to configure the settings which I do, but the problem is it is not recognizeing windows 8, which I don't understand because I was told that the motherboard supports windows 8(note: I have not currently installed windows 8.1 just standard windows 8) So I don't understand what is wrong?

Motherboard: Asrock z75 pro3

CPU: Intel core i5-3330 @ 3.00Ghz

Ram: 8GB (2 4Gb)

Graphics card: Radeon HD 7950

(When I put back in the old motherboard, everything works fine)

if the mb is an older one then you may have installed the windows os in ide mode not achi. see if changing sata modes gets windows to boot. also make sure you have the right drive in the bios as the first boot device. sometime windows will never boot from one mb to another due to to big of a hardware change. sometime you have to do a clean install. also with your mb check that your on the intel sata ports.

Done the first thing(changed to IDE) didn't work. For the second option I assume you are saying the boot options? If so I did that and that also never worked. Now for the last bit do you mean buying windows all over again or..... ? "Intel Sata ports" I don't follow, also if you couldn't already tell by now I am new to this stuff and have no idea what I'm doing.. :(

on intel z77 mb there two set some times of 6g ports. the intel port and an 3 party acmedia port. the acmendia port is not a os bootable port. in the bios try turning off secure boot and see if that changes anything. you may have to wipe and reload windows.
