Hi I want to know if AMD FX 4350 processor ( http://www.materiel.net/processeur-socket-am3-plus/amd-fx-4350-black-edition-90867.html ) can work properly on my 5 years old motherboard AM3 Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P ( http://www.materiel.net/carte-mere-socket-am3/gigabyte-ga-ma790fxt-ud5p-45188.html ).

My gigabyte MB is compatible with am3 socket but I don't know about am3+ if this will really be usable, will it overpower and make younger my pc. Can the old bios handle new am3 feature?

Probably my actual phenom II ( http://www.materiel.net/processeur-socket-am3/amd-phenom-ii-x4-810-45347.html ) can be replace by something most recent.
I don't want buy a new computer, simply upgrade mine.
I hope u can undertand me
Thanks in advance

Jonathan

Most every motherboard manufacturer creates a CPU Support List for every motherboard they generate. By looking up the model number of the motherboard on the manufacturer's web site, you're almost sure to find the CPU Support List in their support documents. In your case, here is the CPU Support List. Unfortunately, as you can see, there are no FX series processors supported by your motherboard.

The best processor your motherboard could handle would be the Phenom II X6 1100T. If you want to use a more current processor (AMD FX series), you would also need to change out your motherboard and re-install Windows, which may or may not require a new license.

New? Unlikely. Used? Very likely at Amazon or EBay (Ebay may have unused versions of this processor). However, from the CPU Support list I provided, the 1100T isn't the only upgrade possibility for you. Perhaps another processor is available.
