I building a gaming PC that is sustainable and components are easily changed if I want to upgrade anything. I'm leaning to performance/cost sweet spot as I am really hoping to get something that is worth the money with the performance given.

Most of my usage will be gaming with medium to max graphics in games such as Battlefield 4, COD, and Planetside 2.

I found a fairly good build but I also want other opinions on other builds which maybe better.

CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K 3.5 GHz
CPU Cooler: Phanteks PH-TC14PE_BL 78.1 CFM
Motherboard: Asus SABERTOOTH Z77 ATX LGA1155
Memory: Corsair DOMINATOR 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3-1600
SSD: Crucial M4 256GB 2.5″ SSD
HDD: Western Digital VelociRaptor 1TB 3.5″ 10000RPM
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition 3GB
Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition 3GB
Case: Cooler Master HAF X Blue ATX Full Tower
Power Supply: Kingwin 1000W ATX12V / EPS12V
Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional SP1 (OEM) (64-bit)

This build is around 2.5K and I'm looking for a rig that is around that price range or lower but of course performance is the most important. I'm planning to utilize this rig for about 5 years maybe and also change parts here and there to be updated on hardware performance in the future.

Hey man, i've made a list of parts that i'd recommend. It's more powerful, cheaper in price, has win 8.1 and will do you great for the future.

This.

However, i'd like to say the reason the 16 is in there is that there's no way of predicting how RAM will be utilised in the future, other than saying the generic "more will be needed" thing. So, if you want to save some cash, jump for the 8, but since you're going for a build that'll need little changes over the years, i'd highly recommend 16.

I've been running 24 for years until recently, when a powercut fried 2 of my dimms Q_Q 16 is fine for me, i just cut it close (ilde usage of ram is about 10-12 GB...... I use chrome a lot :p)

Thank you for the help and the rig does look good even though I don't really have much of the understanding on building PCs. My cousin also gave me some specs and I would gladly ask for an opinion.

Here is a build with the GTX 780 in sli, also I had to type in the price manually for the GPU because it's one of those See in cart price specials on newegg.com. I will provide a link to them below the build.
