My seagate 500gb external hard drive has disappeared from my computer and disk management . All I can do is remove it safely .

save any data on it.
Open diskmanagement by running diskmgmt.msc
Rt click on the drive and then on Format.
Give the volume a name
Select fat32 as the file system type
Make sure Perform a Quick Format is selected and compression is not
-Click OK and the OK again.
