AMD FX-8320 vs. 8350...Newegg promo for 8320

I was all set and ready to purchase the 8350 but then I noticed that newegg has a promo right now for the 8320 for $30.00 off making it $130.00. My question is the 3.5ghz vs. the 4ghz that MUCH of a difference? I'd be spending an extra $60.00 (8350 has a $10.00 off promo) on the 8350 but will that extra .5 make that much of a difference especially if I OC the 8320?

Thoughts? I did read the benchmarks, reviews, etc but I still can't make up my mind. A $130.00 doesn't really seem like a bad deal.

Thanks!

For overclocking the 8320 it will easily reach the 8350 clocks on a $30 budget air cooler like CM Hyper 212 EVO.
  2. go with rolli59's advice, buy the 8320 and a good cooler.

My 8120 is OC'd from 3.1 to 4.6 stable, I can only imagine what an 8320 would do.
  3. They're essentially the same chip except that the 8320 costs less and is clocked lower at stock. A simple multiplier bump will bring it to 8350 speeds. The OC ceiling difference between the two is around 50mhz (0.05GHz). So go with the 8320. :)
  4. fx 8350 - 6880 points3D Mark Physics - gamers benchmark test
    fx 8320- 6200 points ,i.e. 10% less .
    i5 2500K-6230 points

so fx 8320 - would be ok .

    Cinebench R11.5
    single core test
    fx 8350 - 1.11 , fx 8320 - 1.05- 5% less
    multi core test
    fx 8350 -6.94 , fx 8320 - 6.28 , 10% less
  5. Thanks for the advice! :)
  6. go for the FX8320 and put the extra money on a good cooler.
