The problem with spending less for a PSU, is that you get what you pay for. Cheap PSUs sometimes work great... while they last. But when they go, they have the bad habit of taking out something else with them. And cheap PSUs with high wattage ratings can usually never reach those numbers.

To game at 1080p with high-ish in-game settings, at decent frame rates with no stutter, you need a card in the $150 range or better. So for card and PSU, you'd be need to spend over $200 minimum. However, if I was forced to come up with something in the $120 price range to game at 1080p...

It's not the size of your monitor that matters, it is the resolution of your monitor. 1080p will take a more powerful card than 720p to get the same results. The card you can get will depend on what PSU you have. And its quality. Let me know what it is. And what is your top dollar you want to spend.

You say you don't play high-end graphically demanding games. So I'll assume the card doesn't have to run BF4 or Crysis 3 at Ultra Max settings. If you get a high quality power supply in the neighborhood of 550W - 650W, you can go with an Nvidia GTX 660, GTX 660ti or an AMD 7870 or R9 270/270X.

Cases are a personal thing. I like to look for a mid tower that has plenty of room behind the MB tray for cable management. It has to have room for at least a front, rear, and top fan; 120mm or bigger. It has to be deep enough to accept a tall heat sync/fan cooler; 8"+. And it has to have a bottom mount PSU. Aesthetics is up to the individual.

Yes, just give me an idea of the price you want to spend for card and PSU together and I'll suggest some. But a decent PSU will cost at least $60 minimum depending on the wattage you need for the card you want.

$140 is the best I could do. And you will have to back off on settings for most graphically demanding games.

One of these HD 7750s would be a little cheaper, but would demand more backing off of in-game settings:
